Getting ready for your TeleHealth visit
Tips to have a great videoconference appointment
What you will need:
- A Computer, or charged smartphone/tablet
- Internet connection. Please make sure this is a good connection or the call quality will be poor. Wired connections may work better than wireless connections
- Private space for conversation
- You do not need to download any programs or apps to have your videoconference appointment
- If you have ever made a video call with Skype, FaceTime, or Google Duo then you are ready to go!
Getting ready for your appointment:
- Please review the connection tips in the image below as well as the Doxy.me patient information page
- On the day of your appointment please connect a few minutes before the scheduled start time. The call will remain in the ‘waiting room’ until the doctor is free to start the appointment.
By having a virtual appointment you are committing to the following:
- To not share your meeting invite or information on social media
- if you are inviting someone to attend the meeting with you, it should be someone you don't mind sharing your health information with like direct family members or caregivers
- Do not record your conversation with your care provider
- Introduce yourself to your care provider by name, and mention if there is anyone else attending the meeting in person or joining by Zoom
